Frequently Asked Questions

Pilates is a low-impact movement method focused on strength, flexibility, and body awareness. It’s especially effective for improving posture, core stability, joint mobility, and injury prevention or recovery.
Reformer Pilates uses a spring-based machine (the Reformer) to add resistance and support. It allows for more precise, controlled movement — making it ideal for rehab, posture correction, and progressive strength work.

Everyone!

From complete beginners and seniors to athletes, office workers, pre/post-natal mothers, and those recovering from injuries; whether you are recovering or strengthening your body and core, our instructors will craft a suitable plan for you.

Not at all. Pilates helps you build flexibility, strength, and awareness over time. All you need to do is show up. We’ll meet you at your level.

Practiced consistently, Pilates can support:

  • Better posture and alignment
  • Core strength and spinal stability
  • Increased flexibility and mobility
  • Improved balance and coordination
  • Enhanced body awareness and breathing
  • Injury prevention and rehabilitation
  • Reduced back, neck, and joint pain
  • Mental clarity and reduced stress

While Pilates is generally safe and low-impact, it’s important to:

  • Inform your instructor of any injuries, conditions, or pain
  • Move with control, especially when using the Reformer
  • Avoid overexertion or forcing range of motion
  • Use proper form and breathing (we’ll guide you through this)

At Hora, all our instructors are trained to modify movements and tailor sessions to your body’s needs. If you’re recovering from surgery, pregnancy, or dealing with chronic pain, we recommend starting with a Private Intro Session for a personalised approach.

Comfortable, stretchable activewear (e.g., leggings, a fitted top).

Grip socks are required for hygiene and safety — bring your own or purchase at the studio.

Feel free to bring your own towel and water bottle. We have a water dispenser and disposable cups as well.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your session starts — especially if it’s your first time — so we can settle you in and answer any last-minute questions.
We recommend a light meal or snack 1–2 hours before class. Avoid heavy meals right before your session.

If you’re new, we recommend starting with our Introductory Reformer classes or booking a Private Intro Session. This lets us assess your needs and guide you from there.
